What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and show you where everything is. You will be given a copy of our newsheet for the week, which will have more details about the service and activities happening that week.

There are no reserved seats, and the service will normally begin with a time of singing and Bible reading. The children and young people will go out of the main church to their groups after about 20 minutes. There will then be further singing, Bible reading and a time of prayer. Usually one of the church ministers will then preach, opening up the Bible passage and exploring how we can apply its teaching to our daily lives.

Tea, coffee  are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What happens to the kids at church?

We have a brilliant team of volunteers who run our Junior Church programme. There are various age groups:

  • Bubbles (School years: Reception t Year 2)
  • Splash/Xstream (School years: Year 3 to Year 6)
  • Symbol/Grid (School years: Year 7 and above)

We also have a Creche facility available which parents/carers are welcome to use during the service.

Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children need to go to their Junior Church groups. You will need to complete a consent form, the first time they attend.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the Junior Church page.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
